Head of NSS Counterintelligence Department dismissed

Significant personnel changes are underway at Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS).

Sources tell ArmLur.am that one of the two NSS generals – the head of the Anti-Corruption Department – was recently offered the position of the NSS Yerevan Directorate head. However, he reportedly declined the offer and subsequently left the service.

The same sources report that the head of the NSS Counterintelligence Department has been dismissed. He is expected to be replaced by another senior official of the same department, who was dismissed during the tenure of former NSS Director Armen Abazyan.
