Akhalkalaki's Artyush Gomtsyan advances to last 16 at World Boxing Championships

Artyush Gomtsyan from Akhalkalaki has advanced to the round of 16 at the 2025 World Boxing Championships being held in Liverpool from September 4-14, Jnews reported.

Competing in the 60 kg category, he defeated Lithuania’s Edgaras Skurdelis in the opening round on Friday. Gomtsyan is coached by Atom Elizbaryan.

The tournament features over 500 athletes from 66 countries, with 20 titles at stake.
