MPs mark political prisoner Davit Galstyan's birthday

September 5 marks the birthday anniversary of political prisoner and Artsakh MP Davit Galstyan, who is spending the day behind bars.

In a social media post, opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan stated that the Armenian authorities first "deprived Galstyan of his homeland and home, and later of his freedom."

“For the Armenian leader, a threat is anyone who does not reconcile with the imposed reality, especially those who stand up for their own and others’ rights. Happy birthday, dear Davit! Freedom to Davit and all political prisoners!” Abrahamyan wrote.

Artsakh MP Metakse Hakobyan also extended birthday greetings to her colleague, recalling their shared experiences and underlining his role in the struggle for Artsakh’s survival.

“You are a political prisoner, yet freer than many – never weakened, never broken. They hold you illegally because you refused to stay silent and fought for Artsakh and Armenia. Your imprisonment is not the price of their false ‘peace’, but proof of their fear. Your return will mark not only a friend’s homecoming, but the beginning of the people’s victory,” Hakobyan wrote.
