SRC uncovers multiple cases of counterfeit vodka sales in Armenia

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) has uncovered multiple cases of counterfeit vodka sales across Armenia.

According to the SRC’s Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department, large-scale inspections in Yerevan and several regions have revealed 1,703 bottles of illegally circulated vodka, sold at below-market prices and bearing fake excise stamps or duplicated identification marks. The entire batch has been removed from circulation.

Authorities are investigating all parties involved and 14 criminal cases have already been launched this year.

In a statement on Friday, the SRC urged producers to follow legal labeling and tax rules, warned retailers not to buy or sell alcohol of unknown origin and advised consumers to check product authenticity with the E-MARK app before purchasing.

The committee promised to continue efforts to expose and prevent such illegal schemes and eliminate counterfeit alcohol from the market.
