FIDE Grand Swiss: Shant Sargsyan to face Levon Aronian in 5th round

Armenian GM Robert Hovhannisyan drew with GM Ian Nepomniachtchi in the 4th round of the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss on Sunday.

Robert has scored 2.5 points out of 4 and will play against GM Jorden Van Foreest in the next round, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

GM Shant Sargsyan defeated GM Mukhiddin Madaminov and also has 2.5 points.

In the next round, Shant will face GM Levon Aronian.

GM Gabriel Sargissian and GM Aram Hakobyan have 1.5 points, while GM Haik Martirosyan has 1 point.

In the Women's Grand Swiss, GM Elina Danielian has 2.5 points and will play with GM Tan Zhongyi in the next round.

IM Lilit Mkrtchian has 1 point.

The 5th round starts on September 8 at 2 p.m. Yerevan time.
