Bishop Narek Avagyan appointed to oversee Shirak Diocese

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued new clerical appointments within the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Bishop Narek Avagyan, Primate of the Artik Diocese, has been appointed spiritual overseer of the Diocese of Shirak with full authority of a diocesan primate.

Meanwhile, Very Reverend Zakaria Baghumyan has been named director of the Preaching Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. He will be stepping down from his previous role as head of the Christian Education Center.
