The World Wrestling Championships kicked off in Zagreb, Croatia, on Saturday with Armenian athletes Arman Andreasyan and Manvel Khndzrtsyan securing victories in their opening bouts.
The first day of competition featured the 61 kg, 70 kg, 86 kg and 125 kg weight categories, the Armenian Wrestling Federation reported.
In the 61 kg category, Manvel Khndzrtsyan delivered a strong performance, defeating Simone Piroddu of Italy.
Meanwhile, Arman Andreasyan beat Viktor Rassadin of Tajikistan in the 70 kg weight class.
