Exaltation of the Holy Cross to be marked in Armenian on Sunday

The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, known as Khachverats, on Sunday.

The feast commemorates the return of the True Cross from Persian captivity in the 7th century.

The cross is venerated not as an idol, but as a symbol of Christ's sacrifice, victory over death and love for humanity. It represents hope and the promise of eternal life.
