Azerbaijan plans to boost defense spending in 2026

Azerbaijan plans to increase its defense budget to 8.71 billion manats (around $5.13 billion) in 2026, up 3.8% from the previous year, according to figures from the Finance Ministry cited by local media.

The ministry’s preliminary draft of the 2026 state and consolidated budgets outlines defense spending across six main areas. They include strengthening national defense, restoring and securing borders, modernizing the army’s logistics and equipment, demining and improving social protection and service conditions for military personnel.
