What awaits Armenia's electric utility? Pashinyan outlines two scenarios

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the future of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) at the 7th congress of his Civil Contract party on Saturday, stressing that the government has already resorted to "surgical measures" and the process underway is irreversible.

“I see that some still harbor false hopes, but I want to emphasize that the process is unstoppable and unequivocal. It will move forward to the very end under one of two possible scenarios,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, the first scenario would see the ENA nationalized, remaining under state ownership and management.

The second option would involve transferring the majority of the company’s shares to a leading international energy manager.
