Pashinyan slams deadly shooting in Merdzavan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has denounced last night’s deadly shooting in the village of Merdzavan, part of the enlarged Parakar community, which killed Parakar Mayor Volodya Grigoryan and his friend, police officer Karen Abrahamyan.

“I strongly condemn the brazen armed assault in Merdzavan that led to the deaths of community head Volodya Grigoryan and his friend. Another victim remains in critical condition,” Pashinyan said in a statement on Wednesday.

“I extend my condolences to the families of the victims and Parakar residents, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. Armenian law enforcement must swiftly identify all individuals involved in the crime,” he added.
