Narek Karapetyan denies claims about ENA salary

Narek Karapetyan, Vice President of the Tashir Group and Chairman of the Board of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), has rejected recent claims by ENA manager and ruling Civil Contract party member Romanos Petrosyan.

In a social media post on Wednesday, Karapetyan stated that since assuming his role nine months ago, he has not received any salary from ENA. Instead, his entitled pay has been redirected to a fund used to provide bonuses for lower-paid employees in the energy sector.

“I have received zero drams in nine months. Please don’t present ‘facts’ in a way that misleads people,” Karapetyan wrote.

Earlier, Petrosyan claimed that Karapetyan had received a total of 347,585,015 drams in ENA salary in 2024.

Speaking to reporters during Civil Contract's congress on September 20, Petrosyan was asked about reports alleging that he receives a monthly salary of 7 million drams. The ENA manager declined to confirm the figures, saying the details would appear in his official asset declaration. He also noted that he and his team had refused large bonuses allegedly received by former ENA leadership, redirecting them to ENA’s lowest-paid staff.
