Industrial output in Armenia down 7.8%

According to the latest data released by Armenia’s Statistical Committee, industrial production in the country fell by 7.8% in the first eight months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, despite an overall 7.1% increase in economic activity.

The decline was largely driven by a steep 64% drop in basic metal production, a contraction attributed to the reduced volume of gold re-exports.

Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector as a whole also recorded a 7.8% decrease, though some industries showed strong growth. Tobacco production surged by 55% and the output of chemical materials and products rose by nearly 62%.
