Missing Armenian soldier's uncle detained

Arsen Ghukasyan, the uncle of Armenian soldier Sargis Ghukasyan who went missing during the 2020 war, has been detained for one month, his lawyer Tatev Soghoyan reported on Tuesday.

Ghukasyan was arrested near the Defense Ministry building on Monday as part of a criminal probe into “hooliganism and interference with the lawful activity of an official”. The charges stem from a protest outside the ministry on September 29, when families of fallen and missing soldiers clashed with military police officers.

Another relative of a missing soldier has also been arrested in connection with the same investigation.
