Armenia's SRC fines Father and Son Yeremyans, other firms for unregistered workers

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has fined Father and Son Yeremyans 8 million drams for failure to officially register more than 30 employees, the agency said on Friday.

The restaurant and food production group was among several major taxpayers penalized as part of the SRC’s program to improve tax compliance among large companies.

Elaxy, another firm frequently participating in state tenders, was also fined 8 million drams for not registering 32 employees. Smart Agro Solutions, a premium fruit producer and exporter under the BellyBella brand, was fined 5.25 million drams for 21 unregistered workers.

Meanwhile, Zen, a high-end restaurant, was fined 2.75 million drams for 11 unregistered employees.

In total, the SRC said inspections of 13 large taxpayers uncovered 136 unregistered workers, resulting in 34 million drams in fines. Violations of cash register regulations were also found at 24 major taxpayers, leading to an additional 128.2 million drams in penalties.
