Nine political forces submit documents to run in Vagharshapat elections

Nine political forces have submitted documents to run in the upcoming municipal elections in Vagharshapat, a community in Armenia’s Armavir Province, scheduled for November 16.

According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), 11 political groups initially applied for an election account, but only nine have officially filed nomination papers with Territorial Electoral Commission No. 14. They include:

• Homeland Party
• Victory Alliance (comprised of the Forward and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation parties)
• Civil Contract party
• Free Democrats Party
• Mother Armenia National-Democratic Party
• Heritage Party
• National Progress Party
• Republic Party
• Pan-Armenian Front Party

The registration of the nominated parties and blocs is taking place from October 12 to 17.

The CEC will assign the registered contenders their ballot numbers by lot during its October 18 session.
