OSCE chair welcomes Armenia and Azerbaijan's joint request to close Minsk Group

Finland’s Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Elina Valtonen has welcomed the joint request by Armenia and Azerbaijan to formally close the OSCE Minsk Group dealing with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Speaking at a press conference in Yerevan on Tuesday, Valtonen praised Armenia’s continued commitment to the peace agenda “despite all the challenges and obstacles” and expressed optimism about the ongoing normalization process between Yerevan and Baku.

“We welcome the joint appeal by Armenia and Azerbaijan to close the OSCE Minsk Group. We hope all related processes will be completed no later than December,” Valtonen said.
