Car crash leaves one dead, several injured in Armenia

One person was killed and several others injured in a collision between two cars on the Noyemberyan–Jujevan highway shortly after midnight on Friday, the Armenian Rescue Service reported.

Before the arrival of rescuers, three injured people had been pulled from the vehicles and hospitalized.

Rescue teams disconnected the vehicles’ power supply, shut off gas cylinders and extracted two other passengers, who were also hospitalized. One VAZ passenger was later pronounced dead at the medical center.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
