Opposition politician Armen Ashotyan, deputy chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), has accused TV host Petros Ghazaryan of making false statements about the party’s media appearances.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Ashotyan said Ghazaryan, a presenter at Armenia’s Public TV Company, had claimed that RPA members repeatedly refused to appear on his program.
“Petros is lying again,” Ashotyan wrote, adding that he last received an invitation to Ghazaryan’s political talk show about six years ago.
Ashotyan claimed Ghazaryan had since avoided hosting him or other senior RPA members, including Eduard Sharmazanov, despite public challenges to do so. “At least stay silent if the alternative is to lie,” he added.
