Armenian watchdog files criminal complaint over privacy breach involving archbishop

The Union of Informed Citizens has filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor General’s Office, alleging a serious violation of privacy after intimate videos purportedly involving Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan circulated on social media.

In a statement on Saturday, the organization, led by Daniel Ioannisyan, described the incident as a gross intrusion into personal and family life, which are protected under Armenia’s constitution.

“Personal and family life are fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution. We hope the perpetrators will be identified and held accountable,” the statement read.
