Budget spending for Pashinyan’s office to rise in 2026

Armenia’s 2026 draft state budget proposes notable funding changes across key government agencies, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan told parliament’s standing committees on Wednesday.

The Justice Ministry would receive 24.03 billion drams, up 187 million from 2025, while the Prime Minister’s Office would see a 1.52 billion-dram increase to 25.8 billion drams, mainly due to costs for hosting the European Political Community summit and expanded food safety testing.

Proposed allocations include 10.64 billion drams for the Prosecutor’s Office, up 712 million, and 1.1 billion drams for the State Oversight Service, up 168 million amid added staffing.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly and the President’s Office would face slight cuts, receiving 7.0 billion and 1.62 billion drams, respectively.

The Central Electoral Commission would see a major boost to 7.51 billion drams, 7.02 billion more than this year, reflecting expenses for next year’s parliamentary elections.

The Supreme Judicial Council spending would drop by 308 million to 16.85 billion drams, while that of the Constitutional Court would rise by 41 million to 912 million drams. The Corruption Prevention Commission would see a minor cut of 15 million, totaling 405 million drams.
