While Pashinyan declares 2025 'year of peace', Baku prepares for military parade

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has again praised peace with Azerbaijan in a social media post.

“What is the Republic of Armenia like in 2025? In 2025, Armenia is peaceful,” he wrote on Saturday.

At the same time, Azerbaijani media outlets reported that military planes were flying over Baku as the capital prepared for a large-scale military parade marking the fifth anniversary of its victory in the 44-day Artsakh war.

The parade is scheduled to take place in Baku's Azadliq (Freedom) Square on November 8.

Azerbaijan held its first victory parade in Baku on 10 December 2020 following the end of the war and later marked the third anniversary with a parade in Stepanakert, the capital of occupied Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
