Serzh Sargsyan doubts peace claims

Former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan dismissed the Armenian leadership's claims about achieving peace with Azerbaijan as he arrived at the Anti-Corruption Court in Yerevan on Wednesday.

“I don’t see peace, I simply don’t see it,” Sargsyan told reporters before entering the courthouse, responding to questions about recent wheat shipments to Armenia via Azerbaijan and alleged improvement in bilateral relations.

The court was scheduled to hold a hearing in Sargsyan’s case, which had not been announced in advance.

When asked about the lifting of travel bans against him in two separate cases and speculation that new restrictions could be imposed, Sargsyan said: “Most likely, it will become clear after the hearing.”
