Russian security chief says developments in Caucasus require constant attention

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said on Wednesday that developments in the South Caucasus required constant attention and coordination between countries in the area, TASS reported.

“It is important for us to synchronize our watches. Everything related to recent developments in the region, in the Caucasus as a whole and in the South Caucasus, requires our constant attention and consultations,” Shoigu told his Armenian counterpart Armen Grigoryan at a meeting in Moscow.

Grigoryan said he was ready to share details about the situation in the region and thanked Shoigu for the meeting.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of a gathering of security council secretaries from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries in Moscow. Shoigu held several bilateral meetings during the event, including with his Azerbaijani counterpart.
