Young ARF activists protest outside Armenian government

Young activists of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) held a protest outside the Armenian government building in central Yerevan on Thursday, accusing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and other officials of aiding Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s propaganda campaign to claim ownership of Lake Sevan.

ARF Youth Union member Zhora Avdalyan stated the "fake peace agreement" pre-signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington in August amounted to a “forced capitulation”, arguing that Azerbaijan’s real goal was to subjugate Armenia’s sovereignty rather than promote mutual respect.

Avdalyan denounced historical falsifications by Baku and warned that Aliyev’s remarks sought to normalize the distortion of historical facts. “We wouldn’t be surprised if one day they claim that the Azerbaijani people built the two Christian churches on Sevan Peninsula in 874,” he said.
