Inspectorate responds to Amulsar water pollution alert

Tehmine Yenokyan, head of the environmental and educational NGO Green Armenia, reveals that she has received an alert from a local resident about possible water contamination in Amulsar.

According to the report, construction activities in the area have allegedly affected the quality of local drinking water, leaving it visibly polluted.

“I received an alarm from Yura Arsenyan that their drinking water now looks like this as a result of construction work in Amulsar. I urge the media to find out what is happening in the area,” Yenokyan wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, sharing a video.

The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body confirmed to Panorama.am that it is aware of the social media alert and has launched administrative proceedings to investigate the incident.
