Our Way movement announces rally near Yerevan court in support of Samvel Karapetyan

A rally is planned in Yerevan on 17 November as members and supporters of the Our Way (Mer Dzovov) movement prepare to gather outside a local court to demand the release of its detained leader, businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan.

The court is set to hear a motion filed by the Investigative Committee to extend Karapetyan’s detention. He has been held in pre-trial custody for nearly five months.

In a statement on Saturday, the group called on people to gather outside the court building at 3/9 Tbilisyan Highway in Yerevan at 4 p.m. to express support for Karapetyan and to continue advocating for his release.

“Freedom to Samvel Karapetyan,” it added.
