Armenian authorities have charged two suspects in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Chechen national Aishat Baymuradova, the Investigative Committee announced on Monday.
The suspects are being prosecuted under Article 155(2)(8) of the Criminal Code, which pertains to murder committed by a group. Both individuals have been placed on a wanted list.
Baymuradova, who had fled to Armenia to escape a forced marriage and domestic violence in Chechnya and was the mother of a young child, was found dead at a rented apartment in central Yerevan on 19 October.
Media reports identify the suspects as Karina Iminova, an acquaintance who met Baymuradova shortly before her disappearance, and 30-year-old Said-Khamzad Baisarov, also a Chechen national.
The investigation is underway.
