Temperatures to reach record highs in Armenia, chief meteorologist says
Temperatures in Armenia are expected to reach record highs in the coming days, according to a senior meteorologist.
Gagik Surenyan, Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, says the rise is driven by an active tropical air mass moving in from Iraq. The hot spell is forecast to persist for at least the next three days.
“These are tropical warm air masses that have entered the country from Iraq,” he explained. “They will remain over Armenia until the end of the month. No cloudiness is expected during this period.”
