Armenian clubs to pay tribute to football legend Nikita Simonyan

Football teams in Armenia will hold a minute’s silence this week in honor of Nikita Simonyan, a Soviet football legend who died on Sunday at the age of 99.

The Armenian Football Federation reports that all matches in the Fastex Premier League on 25 November, as well as all fixtures in the 15th round of the top flight and the 17th round of the First Division, will begin with a one-minute tribute.

Players from every club will take to the pitch wearing black armbands as a mark of respect.
