Wildfire approaches hotel in Dilijan

A wildfire in Dilijan, a resort town in Armenia’s Tavush Province, has been contained in some areas but continues near forests, the village of Navur and close to the Lernayin Hayastan Hotel.

Authorities say the fire has not reached the hotel or residential areas, mainly affecting grasslands with minor tree damage.

669 firefighters, 215 ecologists and local residents are involved in firefighting efforts, with 22 helicopter flights supporting aerial monitoring. The Rescue Service urges the public to follow fire safety rules and report any smoke or fire to 911.
