Armenia at a 'watershed moment', opposition MP says

Armenia is entering a “watershed moment” in which people must choose between “values and destruction”, according to opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan.

In a social media post on Friday, the secretary of the Pativ Unem faction said the country is facing what he called a “struggle of types” — a clash between fundamentally different visions for Armenia’s future. He noted that this struggle is unfolding not only in politics, but also within the armed forces and even in the spiritual sphere.

“At every critical stage, there comes a turning point when people are confronted with a choice,” Abrahamyan wrote.

He argued that regardless of political pressure, public criticism, government coercion or threats, individuals ultimately determine their own role and destiny.

“Today, the choice in Armenia is between a system of values and annihilation, between adaptation and struggle, between surrender and resistance,” the MP stated.

Abrahamyan claimed that the struggle is far broader than it appears on the surface. "It is not simply about resolving the current situation; it is about fighting for the very existence of the Armenian people," he added.
