Armenia's deputy health minister steps down

Artak Jumayan has resigned as Armenia’s deputy health minister, but will continue working in the healthcare sector in another capacity.

In a statement released on Saturday, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan for their collaboration. Jumayan noted that together they had “walked a responsible, sometimes crisis-ridden and difficult path”, implementing reforms, improving service quality and elevating the role of healthcare professionals.

He reiterated his commitment to public health and announced plans to apply his experience in his new capacity within the sector.
