Five Armenian communities vie for 2027 Youth Capital title

Five communities, including Goris, Masis, Vagharshapat, Stepanavan and Vedi, have submitted applications to become Armenia’s 2027 Youth Capital, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported on Monday.

Under the competition rules, approved by Ministerial Order No. 1415-A/2 on 8 August 2023, the winner will be determined through a combination of expert evaluation and SMS voting. Application packages have been made publicly available ahead of the voting phase.

The southern town of Kapan was named Armenia’s Youth Capital for 2026. The town will host large-scale programs and events, with the ministry integrating resources from both the 2026 Armenia and CIS Youth Capital initiatives to enhance Kapan’s visibility on regional and international levels.
