The Armenian police have confiscated audio amplifiers and jammers from 270 vehicles as part of a nationwide campaign targeting non-standard car sound systems.
In November alone, traffic police checked 1,706 vehicles, identifying 270 with equipment that did not meet legal standards. All illegal devices were seized.
Authorities say the crackdown has significantly reduced public disturbances caused by loud car audio systems and efforts will continue to eliminate such violations. Drivers found in breach of regulations face administrative penalties.
Police have urged vehicle owners to voluntarily remove illegal devices, warning that strict enforcement will continue. Under Article 123 of the Administrative Offences Code, the installation or use of unauthorized light or sound signals, jammers, additional audio amplifiers or loudspeakers is prohibited.
