Multi-vehicle crash in Yerevan leaves one dead

A major traffic accident involving seven vehicles occurred on Proshyan Street in central Yerevan late on Friday, resulting in one fatality.

Emergency services were alerted at 11:26 p.m. local time and dispatched two fire and rescue teams to the scene.

The collision involved Hyundai, Tesla, Kia, Opel, BYD, Nissan and another Hyundai.

The driver of the Kia vehicle died at the scene. Before the arrival of rescuers, the Tesla driver had been transported to a medical center by bystanders.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
