MP Tigran Abrahamyan slams attack on public figure

Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has denounced an attack on public figure and former deputy Mihran Hakobyan by masked men as a show of “unprecedented lawlessness” in the country.

Hakobyan was injured and hospitalized following the assault at the parking lot of the Dalma Garden Mall on Monday.

In a social media post, Abrahamyan, secretary of the Pativ Unem faction, stated the attack reflected intolerance toward free speech in Armenia.

“The more the authorities resort to aggressive posturing, the more actively crimes are being incited in the country,” he wrote.
