Heavy rain expected in Yerevan

A powerful south-western cyclone will make landfall in Armenia on Tuesday evening, bringing rain and snow to the country.

Snow and sleet are expected in Shirak, Lori, Gegharkunik, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, Syunik mountainous regions and Syunik foothills.

Rain is forecast for the Aragatsotn, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor foothills, Tavush and Syunik valleys, as well as Yerevan, with downpours likely in some parts of the city tonight.

Dry conditions will prevail across the country later this week.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly.
