Armenian lawyer Aleksandr Kochubaev, who was released on October 28, is no longer subject to any travel restrictions, his lawyer Erik Aleksanyan confirmed on Friday. Aleksanyan thanked judge Garik Abelian for the decision.
Kochubaev was previously detained after a Facebook post, with masked National Security Service officers taking him into custody. He was initially arrested and held in detention.
The release followed a petition to Armenian Prosecutor General, Anna Vardapetyan, highlighting the deteriorating health of Kochubaev's wife after childbirth. The prosecution reviewed medical documents and altered his measure of restraint, replacing detention with a travel ban, which has now been lifted.
