Yerevan Municipality approves record construction permits despite poor air quality
Yerevan’s city administration says it approved more construction permits than planned in 2025 despite poor air quality, generating 18.7 billion drams in revenue, exceeding the projected 17.1 billion.
At a municipal meeting on Monday, Alik Vardazaryan, head of the Special Urban Development Programs, said the city approved 110 major urban development projects, extended 241 permits, issued 88 new construction permits and re-approved 107 projects.
Permits for 17 major demolition projects were also granted.
The official said revenue from major construction permits exceeded expectations by 1.5 billion drams.
