Armenia reports 10 vehicles with summer tires involved in crashes over past day
Armenia’s Interior Ministry said only 10 vehicles involved in road accidents over the past day were found to be using non-winter tires amid intensified checks by the country’s patrol police.
Between December 28 and 29, patrol officers inspected the tires of 1,655 vehicles nationwide, drawing up administrative offence reports against 180 drivers, the ministry said in a statement.
During the same period, 274 road traffic accidents were recorded across the country. Authorities inspected 520 vehicles involved in the incidents and found that 10 were fitted with tires unsuitable for winter conditions.
The Interior Ministry again urged drivers to comply with traffic rules and operate vehicles exclusively with winter tires, warning that strict enforcement measures would continue.
