Former Armenian MP summoned to Prosecutor's Office

The Armenian Prosecutor General's Office has summoned former Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Karen Avagyan.

Avagyan has been called to the prosecutor’s department dealing with illicit asset forfeiture cases, the notice published on the Azdarar public notifications website showed on Tuesday.

Several members of his family, Artur Avagyan, Lusine Darbinyan and Lilya Zakaryan, have also been summoned in connection with the same case.

The notice said that following a preliminary review completed on December 19, 2025, the competent authority prepared a summary of findings under Armenia’s law on the confiscation of property of illicit origin.

Those summoned have one month from receipt of the notice to appear at the Prosecutor General’s Office to review case materials, submit their position and file asset declarations. Providing false or misleading information in declarations carries legal liability, the notice said.

In recent weeks, Armenian prosecutors have sent similar notices to several opposition figures.
