Heavy police presence seen near Yerevan church ahead of Pashinyan's visit

A large police presence has been deployed near St. Anna Church in central Yerevan since Tuesday morning ahead of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s planned visit.

Employees of the Yerevan Garbage Collection and Sanitation Department have been intensively cleaning the area surrounding the church.

Pashinyan and members of his team are expected to visit St. Anna Church as part of the so-called “pilgrimage march” announced earlier.

At present, the prime minister is attending a Christmas mass at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Yerevan.

On Monday, the Yerevan Municipality workers also cleared accumulated snow and ice from the road leading to the church.
