Rubio, Mirzoyan to meet in Washington

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will host Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Washington on Tuesday, the U.S. State Department revealed.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. local time.

Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Alison Hooker and Brendan Hanrahan, a senior official at the State Department's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, are also expected to attend the meeting.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry has not yet released an official statement on Mirzoyan's trip to the U.S.

Last week, the Armenian foreign minister met with outgoing U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien. Among other projects, the two discussed the steps being undertaken toward the implementation of the TRIPP project, emphasizing the importance of the initiative in terms of promoting regional connectivity and sustainable development.
