Armenian justice minister says she received 6-7 million drams in bonuses
Armenia’s Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan says she has received a bonus of about 6–7 million drams, calling the payment part of her annual compensation rather than an extraordinary payout.
Speaking to reporters in the parliament on Wednesday, Galyan said the information is not secret and will appear in her annual asset declaration, amid media reports that ministers and ministry staff received large bonuses. She said the sum appears as a one-time payment but reflects compensation for a full year of work.
Galyan added that the government’s decision on bonuses is public and followed lengthy discussions on methodology, resulting in what she described as a reasoned and justified distribution of payments, which can also be considered remuneration for work performed.
