Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has dismissed media reports that Argishti Kyaramyan will be appointed as Armenia’s next prosecutor general, replacing Anna Vardapetyan.
“You asked a question, didn’t you? The answer is no… The answer to all your questions is no,” Pashinyan told a press briefing on Thursday, responding to a reporter.
The journalist referred to reports suggesting that Pashinyan was considering Kyaramyan for the post. They further asked whether such an appointment could be interpreted as a gesture of gratitude toward Archbishop Arakel Kyaramyan, Argishti Kyaramyan’s father, who is among the ten senior clerics aligned with Pashinyan and seeking Catholicos Karekin II’s removal.
