Narek Samsonyan taken to hospital after hunger strike, lawyer says

Detained opposition podcaster Narek Samsonyan has been hospitalized after his health deteriorated during a hunger strike, his lawyer has said.

“Samsonyan was finally taken to hospital a short while ago,” his defence lawyer, Ruben Melikyan, wrote on social media on Thursday.

Melikyan added that he would provide further details later, including a live update on the hunger strike and related issues.

Samsonyan, co-host of the Imnemnimi podcast, has been on hunger strike for 14 days while in detention. His condition worsened in recent days, prompting concerns about his health.
