Large fire breaks out at furniture warehouse in Yerevan

A large fire has damaged a furniture warehouse on Isakov Avenue in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, the Rescue Service of the Interior Ministry reported.

Emergency services received an alert at about 10:15 p.m. local time on 23 January, reporting a fire on the roof of a building on the avenue. Four fire and rescue crews from Yerevan’s Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene.

The blaze was found to have started on the second floor of a furniture shop, in a storage area covering around 200 square meters. The fire was contained at 11:55 p.m. and fully extinguished at 00:28 a.m. on 24 January. About 150 square meters of boxed furniture items were destroyed. No casualties were reported.
