Heavy snowfall strands hundreds of vehicles in Armenia

Around 500 vehicles were stranded in Armenia over the past two days due to heavy snowfall, the Interior Ministry's Rescue Service reported.

Between 08:00 on 23 January and 08:00 on 24 January, crisis management centres received multiple calls reporting blocked roads. Rescue units, working alongside police patrols, local officials and road maintenance crews, freed 195 vehicles and assisted 722 people.

The most intensive operations took place in Syunik Province near the village of Shinuhayr, where rescuers cleared 41 trucks and 439 cars, providing aid to 1,658 people between 22 and 24 January.
