Grant-Leon Ranos joins Braunschweig on loan

Borussia have agreed a loan move for Grant-Leon Ranos to second-division side Eintracht Braunschweig for the remainder of the season.

Ranos joined Borussia from Bayern München in summer 2023. He made his competitive debut for the Foals in the first round of the 2023/24 DFB-Pokal away at TuS Bersenbrück (7-0), scoring one goal and setting up another. Over the rest of the season, he went on to make nine short Bundesliga appearances and played eight matches for Borussia’s U23s in the Regionalliga West, scoring three goals.

In the first half of last season, the Armenia international made two substitute appearances in the Bundesliga and played four matches in the Regionalliga, scoring three goals. During the winter break, Ranos joined 2. Bundesliga side 1. FC Kaiserslautern on a six-month loan, where he made five appearances as a substitute.

The 22-year-old returned to Borussia in the summer and has featured in ten competitive matches for the Foals this season – eight in the Bundesliga and two in the DFB-Pokal. Ranos scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 6-4 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 5. He has also scored twice in four Regionalliga matches for Borussia’s U23s.
